Champaran was the first struggle in the history of India by Mahatma Gandhi, of the indigo cultivators against a European planter. First Satyagrah introduced in 2017. It is been 100 years of the successful movement of the Champaran.

In January 1915, Mahatma Gandhi returned from South Africa, He was joined on his travel by Raj Kumar Shukla who persuade or introduced him to visit the theatre of the Indigo farmer's struggle.

Gandhi was ordered to leave Champaran, But he refused and ready to take the punishment for disobeying the law. But the Government took the step back and never used forced. This was the win or?

Champaran was the first of 3 movements during 1917-18 that marked the entry of Gandhi Ji— and civil disobedience — in Indian politics.
