No Budget policy for the shoot

When you are ready to shoot as PRO Photographer or when yours professional photography journey starts. There are lots of challenges come across, lots of unexpected turns, unexpected out of the box reasoning, unanswerable questions, unfair demands etc. These are pointed arrows which be thrown on to you. You job is to tackling these situation along with improving yours photography day by day.  This exercise will always established you as a better pro photographer. There are lots of obstacles from your client's end but out of these arrows the strongest arrow is called NO BUDGET at all.

Today I am writing this article and It is purely related to pro photographer professional career. One of the most difficult obstacle when you meet the corporate clients, big brand client etc. After having 2-3 week discussion and at the end they scrap the deal with saying NO Budget. Once the No budget policy began they do not even pick your phone, never reply to your emails and messages, according to me that's unfair attitude. But you cannot avoid it sometimes.

How to handle this situation, let's discuss few important points. Which may help to get a better picture in advance of shooting.

Draft - Make a draft for knowing your client's project details in advance, Please go through the below mentioned points.
  • Where is the location,
  • shoot date,
  • what is the project,
  • what is the budget,
  • How many days of the shoot
  • Indoor or outdoor
  • Models required or not
  • Who is the concern person
  • Project details (industrial, architectural, products etc)
  • Expected date of the final photographs
  • Project is ready to shoot or not, sometimes they only collect the quotation and their product or other project is not ready at all to shoot.
Once the draft is ready, make it more professional and share with your Clients to fill it. This will help you to present in a better way and will definitely help to build a good business relationship.
Following this policy strictly will strong your company base. If any client deny to fill the form then hold your communication and Never send quotation until or unless there is no clarity  about project details. There are few companies who demand quotation from so many photographer and on the basis of the lowest bid, they consider that photographer and even negotiate and demand more discount. Those client don't even consider good photography skills, your capability   creative sense, technical knowledge etc and they need only the minimum price and they do not even mind to shoot with mobile.

Do not waste your time, energy who do not respect yours photography skills and not able to afford you. There are very good clients in the market who understand photography and they are very good in paying too. Always work with the good client and with their support your career will definitely rise on.

Conclusion - Client is God and working with God is always beneficial. Keep it up and never ever spoil your reputation sometime working on the minimum cost will degrade your photography skills forever. Remember.

Keep experimenting ! Have wonderful and happy photography life for you all
