Increasing Light pollution, Its Dangerous

The pollution killing us all over the world and also creating a big problem for the photographer.  Light pollution killing astronomy photography, stars, star trails and other hidden creatives of nature. Pollution becoming a global problem and leaving a deep impact on human's health, even animal too.

Now the question is? What is Light pollution? I am not sure that most people must have heard about Light pollution.

Light pollution is excessive artificial light in an outdoor environment, this excessive artificial light washes out the night sky, its colour, and bring out the polluted particle, which kills your photography. Disrupt ecosystem and even your high DSLR's 14-bit technology fails to capture the real stars clearly. We must address this global problem.

In some countries, These stars have completely gone and people hardly notice them. Sometimes I scared about the next generation who might have missed these beautiful stars in the sky. The problem with the artificial light is spilling too much in the environment with an extra glare which has no use for anybody. "Protect the night sky from the artificial light in the environment" there may be few NGOs, Govt and other private organization must be working in favour of clean sky or unpolluted sky. But I have no idea.

Here I suggest, Whenever we are planning to shoot sky then we must spend more time to explore the better location to shoot. follow few simple tips to finalize the location.

  • The location must be far away from the cities, towns etc
  • Must try to shoot from the mountain or hill area, Must choose the higher elevation than base elevation to get a better photograph.
  • This place must be safe, no dangerous animal activities found over there ever
  • Must have internet connectivity, in case of emergency you can call people or other services like police, ambulance etc
  • Must plan along with 4-5 people group, It always supports your photography.
  • Must preplan your photography gear because your tools have to perform also.
  • Must share your location with family and friend too.
Conclusion - We may or may not control artificial light because it is not in our hand but together we can control if any miracles happen ever. I wish any organization look into this and take positive action to protect the beautiful sky from artificial light.

Keep experimenting! Have wonderful and happy photography life to you all.
