Tips to becoming a model

Most of the young boy/girl and other aspirants those are interested in becoming model/actor etc. Whenever they contact me for the portfolio shoot and always ask a few questions like How can I be a model after this photoshoot. What are the important steps for becoming a successful model? They are more conscious about their career journey though I am not connected with any modelling agency or working for a hunting model or running any agency to get a modelling assignment for the model or freshers. 

Up to my knowledge, I am sharing my input for those looking opportunities for being a model. Let's discuss the few important steps. If you really like this article please comment. 

Model Coordinator/ Agent - You must find an agency who can represent you in front of the clients. Approach to the right agent who picks your better images and forwards to the clients. The agent knows the correct images and knows the client taste as per the market trend. Please choose an agent wisely.  Never ever send all the images through emails to the agency or agent. Meet the agent, show the portfolio and let them pick your better images. This will let you know about your portfolio. Is it really good or model required the reshoot the portfolio. Because sometimes due to no budget, you hire an immature photographer to spoil the photographs. It happens.

Genuine Agency/Agent- In the market, they are lots of ingenuine agencies are existing, who admire your portfolio and ready to give you assignment in a day or two. They will charge some money and once the charges are paid, they don't even pick your phone. So please research properly about the agency or agent before you hand over your images or pay the money. Always google or read the review of the agency before you get in any agency or hire an agent. 

No Set look - There is no set formula, no set look/outfit/make-up etc for any agency. Avoid heavy makeup, heavy dresses, body exposures or any unnecessary looks. Ad agency always looks for the natural look with light make-up with good costumes along with your body postures that's all. The reason is, modelling agencies grooms you for every advertising assignment. Your first portfolio is just a small introduction to this ad agency. Once your look and body postures are approved then there is endless photoshoot/video shoot/makeups/dresses etc as per client's requirement. Sometimes one mobile normal picture creates magic. 

Be fit or work on your body- Every ad agency always looks for a perfect fit body, lean body, proper face cut. The more active and fresh look you have then there are higher chances to get the modelling assignment. You must know or have proper eating, proper workout habits because fitness is the only thing that will take you at the higher side of the career. This will contribute you not only for the modelling career but through the whole of your life. 

More Opportunity- Some people get the assignment at the early stage of struggle and some struggle little more to get an assignment. But never dishearten yourself. There is always ample opportunities for all the people in this world. You have to wait for your turn. Never ever allow others ingenuine agencies/agent to cheat you for a modelling assignment. Be strong and believe in you.

Good relationship- Always have a good relationship with the ad agencies even though you do not get the assignment in the first go. Be polite, humble with them and keep them in touch.  Never ever make several phone calls to know about the assignment. Sometimes your unnecessary followup can ruin your modelling career. Be patient. Call them when they ask you to call, Never go without fixing the appointment. Talk less or speak when required. be a good listener always. 

Luck favours - Sometimes luck favours you and you are spotted on the airport, hotel etc from any ad agency, agent etc. I have heard lots of success stories of renowned models and actors. This also happens with the people. But never mind if you are not spotted from anyone maybe you are about to get a big assignment because of your hard work. Have faith in you.

Be happy- happiness makes you more strong, fresh, fit because this helps you to get a good assignment sooner or later.
