PEOPLE Photography's TIPS

Few important tips or little important information may help you to shoot people in a better way. Though I am not covering portrait or portraiture tips to shoot model, celebrities and other renowned personalities in this article. This article about how you can shoot people in daily routine life, street, travel photography. Sometimes, your deep knowledge can capture the brilliant shot.

Most photographers are comfortable shooting still life, flowers, buildings etc but when they are about to shoot people or woman figure, woman smile, body language etc. They start shivering and start doing mistakes in the shooting. I tell you with the small knowledge, basic camera settings and shooting tips can give you good photographs. These tips are also helpful for mobile users.

Let us discuss the few important tips to shoot people better.

Change the position- When found the people or human subject to shoot then do not jump into the continuous shutter pressing. Must roam around the subject to finalize the best framing or add the more important content. See the above-posted image of the dance performer and I took 20-30 minutes and keep moving around them to set-up the framing to cover both the girls in one single frame and finally requested them to smile. Thanks for their humble support too. But never ever shoot those who object to shoot otherwise photographer situation can be very awkward.

Get closer but not too much - Sometimes your model or people can welcome you to shot but sometimes they say NO. But here I would like to suggest please maintain the safe distance to shoot and try to be hidden when shooting people. See the below-posted image. It was shot in the exhibition and I captured the sales executive discussing with the guest/visitors and along with the entire exhibition background.

Match up with the eye line- As we all know that we have to focus on the eyes of the people. When we are shooting human figures then we have to be at a level of their eyes and then shoot. Both (Photographer and subject) eyes level must be equally levelled so that photos must speak in a better way. see the below-posted image and check the eye levels.

Clean Background- My favourite topic to discuss background topic, but when you are shooting people in the exhibition, fare, street, public transport etc than finding a clean background is a challenging job. But we have to shoot the people without distracting background. In this case, we have to go early in the morning on the location when the crowd is less so that easily you can find good people with a clean background to shoot. See the below-posted image and tried to discard the distraction out the image but still, there are few human feet visible in the image. But that doesn't kill the image.

Few Safety Tips- Please never shoot those who say NO to you to shoot. Avoid capturing indecent shots. Must take care of and protect your photography equipment and must carry less equipment. Never shoot kids without their parent's permission. It is very important. Some parents become so angry when you shoot their kids and ready to fight with you. So please avoid these kinds of situations.

Conclusion- Shoot people or photographs who convey good and meaning full stories and attract your viewers to stay long for your photographs. Sometimes shooting dumb faces, stone face expression, dull body language etc may spoil your photography career too. Think twice before pressing the shutter button.

Keep experimenting and Have a wonderful and happy photography life to all of you
