Product Photography for Online SELLING

 


As we all know, online selling business is now growing day by day or I must mention It is now in demand, people are buying a product from online stores like Flipkart, Amazon, Mantra, Snapdeal and many more. Buying from an online store is quite easy, hassle free, time-saving shopping, avoid traffic jams, parking problem and top of it you get a good discount from time to time. You can also compare pricing by visiting other stores and get a better deal. It is a new trend in the business and I Must say it is a flourishing business and also for their selling partner. 

When you know that you are shooting products for online selling purpose then you must read my article and go through the important tips. One important thing to remind that you are shooting not only for your client but your client's customer so you need to take better extra precautions. This can be your continuous job means can get the one year contract or more to keep shooting all the products which have to be launched in future.

Let's start discussing a few important tips to follow. 
  1. Always shoot only the product to display.
  2. It must be a close-up shot
  3. Always fill the frame
  4. Zoom the product for better visualization. Every pixel matters. 
  5. Customer must feel connected with the products
  6. Always use a pure white background
  7. Always use the branded light source, no local made light. 
  8. Avoid adding shadows
  9. Image must be scaled correctly, can be straightened in PS
  10. Image must not look cheap, Itchy or see-through etc
  11. Product content must convey the features too.
  12. The product needs to be neat and clean.
  13. Product's finishing, packaging and other content must be professionally done. 
  14. Check and observe all the smallest details to avoid editing unnecessary
  15. Postpone the shoot if the products are not ready to shoot or not in a professional finishing to shoot.  
  16. Shoot packaging also, because sometimes clients forget to add this in the shoot, but it photographer's duty to shoot packaging also. 
  17. Shoot usages of the product too. This convey a strong message of using the products. Use model
  18. Shoot accessories too if the product has, like charger, wires, case, pouch etc. 
  19. Must ask your client to use high-resolution images to use on the online stores. Never allow them to use low-resolution because this can kill the quality of the images. 
  20. Shoot to sale the product, feel like a customer when view your photographs. 
Product shoot can look easy to shoot but it is not an easy job to do because this product has to inspire lots of customer to buy. Customer goes through the pricing and another factor on later stage but the First impression is looking and feels of the subject If the product attracts them to buy. This is a photographer's job. Product's utility, quality, and other things are not photographer's concern. 

Conclusion - Must go for preplanning, take your time to understand the product and how can you impress the customer to buy your client's product, this has to be final thought before you plan to shoot. Avoid the suggestion or instruction which spoil the shoot, educate your client humbly that which is good for the product shoot and which can benefit them.
