Shoot to INSPIRE, Not to IMPRESS

I have seen 10000s of the photograph in my life, I have a habit to observe photos all around me, it does not matter the medium. The medium can be electronics, print, media, entertainment industry etc but the inspiration and impression always matter for me to educate myself. Being a photographer, It is our prime duty to shoot to impress or shoot to inspire. What we choose that develops as per our choice.

I have noticed so many photographs which is been published on the social media platform to impress the people, friends, family only. I have also met so many beginner photographers to discuss this "Inspire & Impress" topic. But most of them, shoot to impress to their circle, community etc and sometimes to impress the clients.

In my humble opinion, When we are shooting to impress others then we are highlighting/capturing the outer carving, outer eye-catchy, outer beauty's details of the subject and avoid to get involved in the deep of the subject. Let's have a look at impressing photographs to others. It is OK, We can shoot what we see, but we must hunt for that too that we do not see.

Impress others

India Gate, a well-known place in India and the perfect place to visit, I invite you all to visit Incredible India. The monument looks the same as actual but the photographer changed the view of angle to shoot creatively. So there is nothing hidden in this image but for the viewers, it is wow image because it impresses them because of the nice sky, nice building, people etc

See the next example of the impression, Captured the Rose as it looks always pretty, little edited and Now ready to impress the viewers because of the soft petal, dark uninterrupted background etc

Conclusion - I hope these two examples are enough to share the purpose of writing these articles. Sometimes most of the photographer captured the image which is visible to everyone, up to a certain extent photograph managed to impress viewers but not for so long and do not leave the impression on the viewers. Think wisely before capturing the subject.
Inspire Others

Now let's have a look at those photographs that inspire you to shoot, to think in deep, to understand the depth of the subject that teaches something great, that images convey the meaning full message to the viewers and society.

See the above-posted image, That holds your viewers to see this image again and again. this is something viewers cannot see in a daily routine job or normal images. The message is Off the beaten path. It is tough to find out or explore this type of content for photography. This is my all-time favourite, best seller, best-acclaimed image.

See the above-posted image, It is purely an example of creatives, a good example of silhouettes photography. I am sure, all my viewers can view this image again and again and convey the strong message of freedom and inspire another photographer to shoot differently. because you need to have the patience to wait for the right time of sun-set, correct content, perfect framing, composition etc

Conclusion- When we start a photography career and the main purpose of the capturing image is too create wow factors in the image. It is ok in the beginning but gradually we must switch on the other parameters of the photography like content, storytelling that convey a strong message to the viewers.

Keep experimenting and have a wonderful and happy photography life to you
