Personality of a photographer?

I have always faced this question " What personality traits do photographers have" Beginners often keep asking this question like what makes the photographer different from other people, what kind of attitude he must carry on.   According to me, every photographer creates a different known space in the world of photography by adding his creatives, different thoughts, a different aspect etc.  "Photographers need to be artistic, meaningful communication through his photographs, original creative ideas and all he expresses his true expression. He is well able to influence others"  A few important things need to be followed by all the photographers. He need not be conventional. Must work in a professional manner and convince others with his creative photographs Must respect his photography kit and always keep maintaining the kit because sometimes your maintained kit also express your passion.  He must pursue a good character and behave nicely, professionally. The secret to shooting BIRDS

A Hummingbird
Bird photography is one of the speedy subjects to shoot, It requires a photographer's quick action to capture the bird's actions like a flying bird, bathing bird, warbling, humming, sometimes play hide n seek with you. The birds may have so many speedy habits which are absolutely difficult to capture but your knowledge of equipment, knowledge of finding a location, knowledge of birds and their movement and above all the knowledge of photography.

Let's find out the secrets, tips to shoot birds amazingly and any other speedy species.

Choose the right location- The location must be full of different birds, species and must have good background too. It is important to google about to location before you plan to shoot the birds. Must know in advance about the types of birds visit this location often or once in a blue moon.Because good bird location can increase the chances of good birds photography always.

A flying painted stork- Morning Shot
The right timing to shoot- Matured photographer always plan the correct timing to shoot the birds Because this is the best-hidden secret to shoot birds. You must know the correct timing (morning or evening) where all the birds visit this location. This will help you to shoot correctly, always remember.

Close-up shot- Garden Butterfly or Monarch.
Close-up shots- The most important shot of the bird is CLOSE-UP Shots, which communicates so well. Its also depends on your zoom lens, which zoom lens you carry. I suggest you carry a telephoto zoom lens (400mm, 70-200mm, 150-600mm etc) to shoot the birds, animal's close-up and good detailed shots. See the above image. Please get the shot as close as possible.

Catchlight- A Hummingbird
Catchlight or eye-contact - The catchlight is very important when shooting birds, animals even human. Eyes must communicate with the viewers so well, eyes contact are very important. See the above-posted image, can see the catchlight very clearly.

Plum-headed Parakeet, Distracted Background
Clean background- Avoid distracting background when locking the focus, I must tell you clean background also carry a similar weightage for great shots. If your shot is perfect or captured the great bird but the background is cluttered then your photo is disqualified. It is photographer duty to keep this thing in mind before capturing a bird or animal. See the above-posted image of plum-headed parakeet and observe the distracting background. This background spoiled the entire image. See the above-posted image of HUMMINGBIRD (Topmost) and flying Painted stork with a clear background and this has created a great impact on the viewers. Always hunt for both birds and clean background.

Yellow Warbler sitting on the electric wire
Bird on the electric wire- I feel really bad when I see images of birds sitting on the electric wires. I do not why the photographer captured these kinds of images. These photos loudly speak that photographer captured these images from their balcony, roof etc. No efforts have ever taken to go out and capture the birds. Please avoid strictly capturing birds sitting on the electric wires. These are disqualified images and has no use. See the above-posted image.

Keep experimenting, Please have wonderful & happy photography to you all.

Photographer & blogger Prasenjeet Gautam ( has captured all the above-posted birds and butterfly images. INDIA
