Staff Shoot on Location

When shooting for corporate, Industries and you have to shoot the staff on the same location or limited space and one angle to shoot the staff. Sometimes this becomes a challenge where you can not shoot the staff on some other location of the company. The reason for shooting the staff is to show a comfortable culture to attract new employees, an updated version of the multinational companies along with the newly built infrastructure. To show good facilities of the corporates or to launch the latest technologies of the companies. There are endless reasons to show staff photographs. It is good content for the photographer to capture or create great stories. 

Let discuss the few major points before we plan staff photography. 

Meet the staff- When you are going to pre-plan a shoot then meet all the staff to whom you are going to shoot. Interact with them so nicely, let them be comfortable with you. Let them know that you are going to shoot them

Instruction to the staff- Make a list of the instruction to share with the staff like male has to clean shave if not having a beard, Office uniform (if has) need to neat and clean, perfectly ironed. For ladies staff, all have to do little makeup or hires a makeup artist for all these skip touch up if budget allows you, No nail paint, proper hairstyling etc. So that you can capture the better staff photos. Sometimes you do not find staff uniform, in this case, Ignore the uniform or ask them to wear the same colour shirt and trousers to shoot. Sometimes extra pressure for the uniform on the client can postpone or cancel the shoot. Please handle this situation wisely. 

Location or space size- Always check the space size where you have to shoot staff like canteen, cafeteria, staff room, design room, showroom, staircases etc You should know well in advance your shooting space to bring your correct photography equipment like big/small light, lens wide range, light stand or flashguns etc. This exercise saves your time and helps you to bring correct photography equipment. Sometimes big strobe light does not work in small cafeteria or narrow spaces. Check space twice before shooting.

Choose the background- Always choose the background which connects viewers to the company through the staff. Background must not carry hidden distractions like you capture the staff along with animal, birds, lake, sun background. explore the background to match the staff and company.

Final the Staff's faces- Last but not least, Now its time to choose the final faces to put in the centre of the photograph. Always choose young people dynamic faces, not against old people photography but young dynamic plays a better role for staff photography for corporate too.
