Smartphones are far-away from DSLR photography

I hope you all are aware of smartphone's camera advertising, how the smartphone manufacturing companies are selling their smartphone by mentioning the advantages, features of the mobile camera's photographs. It really surprised me. But, they are right at their place of selling because taking photographs from the smartphone is now trending. Smartphone users or new users always ask the first question to the seller, How is the camera quality, picture quality, pixel? etc. Mobile manufacturing company exploring new features every day to attract customers.

Now smartphone's picture quality is improving day by day, companies are launching new camera features to attract the customers.

But, can we say that DSLR cameras are fading out of the market? No, NOt at all. Over a period DSLR's picture quality, features, angles, ISO sensitivity, speed, processor,  camera body's durability, weather shield etc are really improved or much improved and become handier and user-friendly.

Now the debate starts, let's discuss both the appliances and understand which one is better for whom and why?

Smartphone's Advantages
  • Handy to use anywhere and anytime, No extra attention to carry. Smartphones are so portable and easy to handle, carry in any pathetic weather condition. No extra lenses, No extra photography accessories like DSLR cameras are required accessories to shoot.
  • Can share photos immediately via WhatsApp, snap chap, FB, messenger etc and DSLR required editing and then share to others
  • No editing required, shoot and send, shoot and share, Can upload and save to any drive for safest point of view
  • Cheap and best and serve your other important jobs like phone, messages, email, money transfer, ticket booking etc that DSLR cannot do at all and moreover buying DSLRs is an expensive affair and required proper knowledge before buying.

DSLR's Advantages

  • DSLR produce a high range of picture quality, colour range, depth and details where smartphones are not capable to produce that excellent picture quality.
  • DSLR has different lenses and can change the lens as per the scene required (Zoom, wide, macro etc) where the smartphone has an inbuilt lens and cannot change the lens and can shoot limited only. DSLRs lens's long-range will produce versatile images.
  • DSLR's lenses are highly specialized to shoot a particular genre of photography like one lens cannot shoot all the genres of photography and Smartphone's lens has no specialised category for any particular genres of photography.
  • You cannot shoot for your clients with the smartphone but DSLR can shoot for the client, family, friend etc.
  • DSLR freeze the moment with the setting of aperture, shutter speed and ISO all adjustable setting to capture better shot as per the photographer's requirements. Where there is no setting for smartphones and users has no option.
  • DSLRs have much fastest process as compared to smartphone processor.
  • DSLRs have better battery backup than a smartphone because you use a smartphone for other purposes also like talking, internet, chat, watching videos and other jobs where DSLRs are used to shoot only.
  • DSLR required a proper education or knowledge to handle the DSLR camera where the Smartphone does not require any special knowledge, you need to buy and shoot.
  • DSLRs required patience, understanding, knowledge to shoot the subject amazingly and No smartphone is required.
  • Conclusion- DSLRs are designed, manufactured only for the photography purpose and no other purpose is involved. The only requirement is how to capture a better shot. Only serious photographer, hobby photographer, professional photographer buy these DSLRs camera along with the different kind of lenses. Professional photographer shoots for their clients and invests a huge amount for the excellent photographs, develope a studio for the portrait, products photography. It is a different segment for serious professional photography. Where the smartphone becomes a need for everyone, does not matter for the user is interested to shoot or not. BUT DSLRs users are interested only to shoot. That's the major difference between DSLRs and Smartphone. One becomes needs now and DSLRs is choice to shoot professionally and personally.

All the DSLRs user are having smartphones, but all the smartphone users are not having the DSLRs camera. Only photographers buy the DSLR camera or a special category of the users buy only for the photography purpose.  But everybody is buying a smartphone but not for photography.

DSLRs wins for the photography purpose.

If you love taking selfies and do not like serious photography then buy a smartphone and do not invest in DSLRs. If you wanna become a serious photographer then buy a decent DSLRs camera and lenses. But if you compared the DSLR photographs with smartphone images then I must say Smartphones are far-away from DSLR photography.

Keep experimenting (with DSLRs only). Have happy photography to you all
